Some of our most ordinary choices happen one sip at a time.
We think a lot about what is on our plates, but what is in our glass is part of Consuming Goodness too.
Water supports normal body function, and staying hydrated is one of the simplest forms of everyday care. It is not glamorous. It does not need a complicated wellness label. Sometimes goodness is simply drinking the water.
Make the Everyday Choice Easy
Keep water where you will actually drink it. Add lemon, cucumber or herbs if that makes it more enjoyable. Unsweetened tea, sparkling water and other lower-sugar choices can add variety without turning hydration into another project.
Read drink labels just as you would food labels. Sugar and calories can add up quickly in beverages because they are easy to consume without thinking much about them.
And Alcohol?
Alcohol is one of those places where lifestyle, health, faith and personal choice can intersect. The less alcohol a person drinks, the lower the alcohol-related health risk; some people choose not to drink at all.
For me, Proverbs 20:1 is also a reminder to be thoughtful about alcohol rather than allowing it to become the center of social life or a habit that controls us.
Drink With Intention
Consuming Goodness does not require a special beverage, supplement or expensive wellness routine. Pay attention to what you drink most often. Choose water regularly. Be thoughtful about sugar and alcohol. Make the ordinary choice a good one.
Then get on with living.
Good in. Good out.
Love yourself, as yourself. Gal. 5:14®
